Meet Humble Beginnings Nursery
Hi! I'm Kaden Karels. I have been a crafter since I learned to crochet at age 6 and at age 7 for my birthday, I asked my parents for a bead loom.
Fast forward 5 years ago I saw reborn dolls and almost got taken by one of the many dishonest, disreputable sellers on the internet. I soon figured out I wanted to learn and make my own baby. Here 5 years later I have reborned over 60 babies.
This has become my love of all-time.
Creating these babies now that I am retired, I have a lot more time. So, I decided since I used to make all my kid's clothes for the first few years of their lives, that I was going to start a line of baby clothes. So I looked for vintage patterns, and now you can find ruffled dresses and coveralls, etc. here on my site. They are real baby patterns so they will also fit the appropriate size infant.
I will be adding new items along the way so please, check back every so often and see what's new.
So, why Get a reborn Doll?
When I saw my first reborn, I was struck by the art and beauty, however there are so many reasons people want a reborn. We have found they are quieting to many Alzheimer patients. They have a calming influence on a busy mind. I have babies with pre-teens all the way up to my 80-year-old best friend. Not everyone likes to play with their babies, but I have to put forth the notion that boys and men get to play. They're toys go from toy cars to quads, radio-controlled cars to boats and sports games. We as girls are not encouraged to play as soon as we have kids, and a home. We all remember that feeling of our first baby in our arms, reborns are so real feeling that our bodies mimick that newborn feeling. So, for want-to- be moms they are a very good example to practice (play) to see what it feels like to get used to the idea of a baby. I am 67 years old and I take a baby in the car. I find it quite calming to pat the back of a baby as my husband drives down the freeway. He is a good driver, but I hate the freeway! I have done several portrait dolls for Grandparents that live a long way from their grand kids. Whatever your reason for wanting a reborn I would love to be the artist you choose to fulfill that dream.
